The Addy Foundation was looking to enhance their professional presence and share stories of impact with a wider audience.

We began by publishing quarterly stories featuring current work in their five focus areas, and that initiative quickly grew toward a need for a new website featuring responsive design and multiple points of access to information.

We are now consistently developing new ways to shine a spotlight on how The Addy Foundation is making a difference in the community.

Hoblitzelle Foundation in Dallas, Texas is well-known for funding projects in social service, cultural, educational, and medical fields. Founded in 1942, this highly regarded foundation holds a rich history and name recognition with local institutions. With new President Katie Robbins at the helm, we did a full rebrand of identity, website, and supporting materials. The challenge was to stay true to the founding traditions and values while creating a modern and compelling identity. Together, we conducted a brand “discovery” exercise with board members and developed a variety of identity options ranging from more traditional to more modern. After the identity and stationery were finalized, we rebuilt the website into an entirely fresh and vibrant user experience. For the first time in its history, the website includes financial data, information on previously funded projects, an online grant application process and a password-protected area for Board Members to use and reference. We are also currently working on an annual report. More to come soon.

The Corporate Programs & Membership team at the Perot Museum of Nature & Science needed a compelling, user-friendly, and streamlined communication system to market corporate partnerships. We created a modular system which included a downloadable brochure, customized sponsorship opportunity templates, formal agreement template, and a powerpoint deck of best practices.

Professional common ground led me to a partnership with The Bush School in Seattle, Washington for a collaboration of illustration, photography, and design in both print and digital formats. The final pieces are a true celebration of GRATITUDE, as the title suggests. Through five feature stories, we learn how giving can spark Compassion, Creativity, Curiosity, Action, and Collaboration. The print piece was mailed to constituents, pointing to a password-protected donor listing within a website that echoes the content of the book.

On February 6, 2016, Greenhill School opened the architecturally stunning Marshall Family Performing Arts Center with a series of events including a major donor party on Saturday, a community open house on Sunday, and a ribbon-cutting assembly for students on Monday. To support the events, we designed a save-the-date postcard, five-piece invitation package, and a customized series of three programs. Inspired by the fritted glass design of the windows in the new center, the postcard and invitation set the mood for the evening. The program design was inspired by architectural detail shots of the building, capitalizing on the only accessible imagery procured during the final construction phase. The three programs overlap in content, but specifically cater to the audience at hand, whether it was Saturday evening donors, grand opening crowds or everyday guests that might pick up a program in the lobby to learn more about the building.

In partnership with talented design firms such as BoldFace Studio and Team 938, we have produced The Hill magazine annually. The official magazine of Greenhill School, The Hill publishes timely and relevant news and editorial. You can review features here.

In Spring of 2019, Becca Winti of Boldface Studio created a fresh new design for the publication, using a curved line motif or “hill” present on many spreads.

While pertinent to all current families of the School, The Hill is also designed as a way to resonate with Greenhill's far-reaching community—those who are not necessarily connected on a day-to-day basis.

One alumna wrote, “The older I get, the more I enjoy seeing this book in the mail. It has served a different purpose in each stage post high school. It started as a fun way to see what other classmates were doing, then it became a way to see pictures and activities on campus. Now, that I have children, it makes me long to find a place for them that will be as impactful on their world view as Greenhill was to mine.”

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science wanted to create a messaging campaign for their internal staff with the intention of breathing life into the culture, energizing ideas, and pointing the way to desired and “inspired” behavior. We created a five-tier messaging strategy that became the tenets/pillars of the “GO ALL IN” campaign.

Greenhill’s Director of Marketing and Communication Kerry Shea and I were delighted to share our marketing strategy for the $52.5 million Building Community Campaign at the CASE-NAIS conference in 2018. Our presentation covered six years of implemented strategy and was divided into “Seven Takeaways” that schools could use in their own ideas and plans.

In order to motivate and inspire people to give, the annual giving program of a school has to feel fresh every year, highlighting new angles of positioning. We have featured and developed new themes each year such as limitless possibilities, extraordinary opportunities,  teamwork, community, and gratitude.

The most ambitious campaign in Greenhill School’s history called for a fresh brand that brought forth the power of arts and community in the quest to build a new performance hall and renovate the dining hall. The identity mark was inspired by the building design by Weiss/Manfredi as well as the encompassing energy and momentum of community. The identity and campaign story served to inform and unite a varied portfolio of materials, including invitations, signs, one-pagers, stationery, brochures, and even a stage backdrop.

A new athletic director led the charge to rebrand the athletic program, inspiring a clear and united purpose in student athletes to push beyond their limits, dedicate themselves, and commit to the team. A motivational “Relentless Effort” slogan was rolled out as well as a more sophisticated and elegant brand concept. This was developed and carried out across campus in environmental graphics, printed materials, signs, and banners.

Big-names like Jay Leno, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bob Schneider, Emerald City Band, and Polyphonic Spree have headlined this annual fundraiser—and bright, festive identities have emerged. The Gala is the most important fundraising event of Greenhill School and often is able to raise a significant amount toward the endowment.

Brochures and invitations have the power to grab attention, inform, inspire, set the mood, and entice an audience. These materials have ranged from marketing pieces to informational collateral to volunteer appreciation, to cocktail parties, and more.

Events and initiatives often need unique materials to create name recognition and carry forth their mission. The following images show various events and supporting materials, such as a holiday giving drive to support faculty, and a 5-K run for blood cancer.

This dairy company wanted a new look for their standard sales pitch, replacing traditional tables and charts with graphically-rich data visualization. This sales deck was delivered in the company's chosen media of Microsoft PowerPoint. The presentation makes the case for an increased supply of 64 oz. half and half in stores around the country.

The playbill and posters for student productions are used to advertize the show, generate excitement, and explain the production. They also often serve as mementos for posterity.
